A subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., they serve a variety of Tex-Mex foods including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, other specialty items, and a variety of "value menu" items. Taco Bell serves more than 2 billion customers each year in more than 6,500 restaurants mostly in the U.S., more than 80 percent of which are owned and operated by independent franchisees. History Founding and growth Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell, who first opened a hot dog stand called Bell's Drive-In in San Bernardino, California in 1946 when he was 23 years old. In 1950, he opened Bell's Hamburgers and Hot Dogs in San Bernardino's West Side barrio. According to Gustavo Arellano, author of Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America, Bell watched long lines of customers at a Mexican restaurant called the Mitla Cafe, located across the street, which attracted a dedicated customer base for its hard-shelled tacos. Bell began eating there regularly, attempting to reverse-engineer the recipe, and eventually won the confidence of the proprietors such that they allowed him to see how the tacos and other foods were prepared. In late 1951 or early 1952, he took what he had learned and opened a new stand, this time selling tacos under the name of Taco-Tia. Over the next few years Bell owned and operated a number of restaurants in southern California including four called El Taco. Bell sold the El Tacos to his partner and built the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. In 1962, he sold Taco-Tia. Kermit Becky, a former Los Angeles police officer, bought the first Taco Bell franchise from Glen Bell in 1964, and located it in Torrance. The company grew rapidly, and by 1967, the 100th restaurant opened at 400 South Brookhurst in Anaheim. In 1970, Taco Bell went public with 325 restaurants. In 1978, PepsiCo purchased Taco Bell from Glen Bell. Several locations in the Midwestern United States were converted from Zantigo, a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Mexican chain which PepsiCo acquired in 1986.

Jamaican Brown Stew Chicken (Village Recipe!)

❤️ SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/divascancookfan The very first village recipe is here!! What are village recipes? Well you can find out all about them in the link below! But just a really quick overview: Have you ever heard the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child”? I believe this to be true with recipes as well!! Some of my favorite recipes are ones that are made up with little tips and tweaks that I’ve picked up from here and there or recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next. One thing that I’ve noticed is that my readers love sharing their favorite tips, tricks, and opinions on what makes a dish the BEST! (and so do I!) Village recipes will be monthly, interactive feature on Divas Can Cook! Every month I will select a dish to become the next village recipe (sometimes I will do fan voting) and post the dish to my social media platform (be sure you are following me there. Links are below), there you can leave your favorite tips! I will then present to you my video version of the dish with your tips included! (Hey you can play around in your kitchen with and tweak/perfect that special dish as well!) I am so blessed to have such a diverse following, so village recipes will mainly celebrate dishes outside of Southern cuisine. TO SEE THE NEXT VILLAGE RECIPE OR LEAVE YOUR RECIPE TIPS GO HERE! https://ift.tt/2MyPcp2 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Today it’s all about Jamaican Brown Stew Chicken!! Yall….like yall…..I’ve had my fair share of authentic Jamaican Brown Stew Chicken and this recipe right here….BOMB DIGGITY!! It’s soooo daggum flavorful! From the smokey homemade browning sauce to the well-seasoned chicken and fresh veggies…mercy! And let’s not even talk about how it tastes the next day….EPIC! Now I know that with all classic cuisines you will have folks that make it a bit different. Some may use fresh tomatoes instead of ketchup, some may say add flour and some may say absolutely not lol. That is the beginning of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. The moment you put it in your mouth a gentle flavor will spread throughout and a little later it will change into a rich and delicious taste. It was in the 1980s that Santouka took its first steps toward dominating the world and began to draw attention with its shio ramen served with a small, pickled plum in a unique round bowl. Santouka started its history when founder Hitoshi Hatanaka said to his family. "I'm going to make delicious ramen." Under the original production method, the white tonkotsu (pork bone) soup was produced from repeated trial, error, and improvements. It has a mild, gentle flavor and was dedicated it to be delicious to the last drop. The company was founded in March 1988, a mere four months after that soup received rave reviews from Hatanaka's family for its amazing quality. It started with a single restaurant in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. The restaurant had nine seats and a single item on the menu: shio (salt) ramen. This was the beginning of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. We would like you to try our ramen and enjoy its delicious flavor to the last drop. This is the wish of the founder, part of every small bowl of ramen. The donburi (ramen bowl) of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka was specially ordered by our founder. Since they have a thickness that prevents the soup from cooling, the aroma and delicious flavor remain intact until the moment when the customer lifts a spoonful of soup to his mouth. The unusual color of the donburi, remains beloved today by many customers as a symbol of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. Moreover, in order to create a mild tasting soup, we have boiled pork bones for long time. When the white colored soup is complete, we do not re-boil them to protect its taste and smell. Therefore, you may not find the soup to be very hot. But we believe that it is the right temperature to taste from children to elders. While keeping in mind that our soup should be ‘able to enjoy until the very last drop,’ with the right amount of salt, we have brought out the best of the ingredients for the soup. The mild tasting soup has not changed its taste since its beginning. Do try our soup.
